How to upgrade Human Missile

Spend points on chaos the official page promised, not on a prettier trail.

How to Upgrade

The last line of the official how-to is the one players skip: upgrade your missile for more destruction. Human Missile is a beta, so the shop will grow. That is not permission to invent a twenty-row gear list. This guide is the spend policy: what to buy first, what to ignore, and how to notice when Maddorith added something new.

Pair it with the upgrade tier list, the upgrade planner, and the missile upgrades catalog. If you cannot smash yet, you do not have an upgrade problem—you have a launch or steer problem.

The only early-game rule

Buy the thing that makes the next house die faster. If the tooltip mentions blast, power, damage, or destruction, it is a candidate. If it mentions trail, color, or ‘style’, it waits. A pretty missile that bounces is still a bounce.

Because the item set is incomplete, use categories instead of fake names. Power first. Control second if you keep missing. QoL never first. When a new row appears after a publish, slot it into those buckets before you tap buy. The beta items page tracks what is still promised versus what is in the client.

A first-hour spend path

  1. Bank enough for one power upgrade. Do not window-shop.
  2. Take five dives at the same cluster and see if more parts fall.
  3. If you still miss, buy a control-flavored upgrade instead of a second power node.
  4. If you hit and the house laughs, buy more power.
  5. Cosmetics after the loop feels boring in a good way.

That path survives a shop rename. It also survives a mid-August-style refresh that adds rows without rewriting the fantasy.

What not to buy with your first pile

Do not buy a bundle you do not understand. Do not buy a game pass because a stranger in chat said it is required. Official VIP servers are off; nobody can sell you a private economy. Do not wait for codes to fund the first upgrade. There is no public list.

Scripts that auto-buy are still scripts. We found none worth listing. Read script safety and then go smash a house with your own thumb.

How to audit the shop after a patch

Open the shop, screenshot it, play a set, screenshot it again. New icons, new prices, or a new tab are the story. Write those down on patch notes in your head: what appeared, what it claimed to do, whether the next smash felt different. This wiki will not invent a legendary named ‘Void Core’ to fill space.

If two upgrades claim the same destruction, buy the cheaper one and test. Beta pricing is allowed to be wrong for a week. Your test dives are cheaper than a theorycraft thread.

Spending with friends on the server

Eight players will flex trails. Ignore them. Your score is brick, not chat. If a friend found a new shop row, verify it in your own client before you reroute your plan. Then return to how to score and see whether the new row actually changed the boom.

The upgrade loop is how Human Missile stays a game after the meme. Treat the shop like a tool bench. When the bench grows, we will grow the items hub. Until then, one power buy, five test dives, and no cosmetics. That is the whole sermon. For a printable order, use the upgrade planner and stop improvising in the heat of a bad bounce.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Human Missile questions.

What should I upgrade first in Human Missile?

Whatever increases destruction or blast. Skip trails and colors until your smash loop is consistent.

Why is the shop so small?

The game is in beta. Maddorith said more features and items will be added. Use categories, not invented item names.

Do I need a game pass to upgrade?

No official text requires a pass to play the loop. Be wary of chat sellers. VIP servers are not enabled.
